PERSONAL GEOGRAPHIES

Students explored abstraction through the study of several art movements and developed their own abstract language with a chosen. personal geography and utilizing a specific abstract style namely hard-edge painting. Students created and individual painting but they were organized in a collective grouping for viewing. Click on images below to enlarge.

PROCESS

Students learned basic color theory and applied specific color schemes to their painting process. Google maps was utilised as a tool to develop resource materials to develop an abstract language. Basic foundation skills in surface preparation, color mixing and application, and working with techniques to create a hard edge painting were developed.
