Students engaged in a process of imagination through character development, storytelling and creating a world/environment for their character to exist in. They started the process through a series of prompts in a Drawing Jam to imagine and draw characters. They then selected and transferred their sketches to a digital platform using the Adobe Fresco or Procreate apps. Learning the tools and techniques in these apps they built and refined their character with line and a defined color schemes.
In the next iteration, students took their characters into worlds defined by augmented and virtual reality. They used the Adobe Aero app to place their character into their spaces at home and at school. Next they created a virtual gallery space in which the viewer can use the Oculus glasses to immerse themselves into a virtual reality.
In the last iteration they used their character ideas from their drawing jam to create 3D ceramic objects. They learned hand building techniques of coiling and scooping to bring their characters to life.
